North Plainfield is a residential community of three square miles located twenty-four miles southwest of New York City. Route 22 slices through the borough in an east/west axis and garden apartments and condominiums line the northerly hillside, interspersed with commercial establishments along the highway.
This community is rich in stately homes as well as charming smaller homes There are a diversity of recreational amenities available plus a fine library. North Plainfield has full time paid police and fire departments.
